Location: FSU Center for Performing Arts, 5555 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243

This Sarasota Ballet tour, exclusively for Arts Advocates, will include a behind the scenes tour. Learn about the history of the Sarasota Ballet, their current season, and their community engagement and education programs. We’ll visit the costume shop, which includes a presentation by the costume designer. In studio 1 we will see dancers in class, and as we move backstage we will see various backstage areas. We’ll sit in the Mertz Theatre and learn more from our guide and ballet staff; this includes a question and answer period. Last, we will meet the box office manager, Rod, in the lobby and have a drawing for a Friends of the Ballet luncheon ($50 value at Michaels On East). Please note, we will be using stairs to walk to various rooms. 

Logistics: There is plenty of parking in front of the FSU Center. Please walk to the right of the building, head toward the back (northeast corner) and you will see the sign for the stage door. We meet there by 9:25. Our guide from the Friends of the Ballet will meet us and we will take the elevator to the 3rd floor for the start of our tour.
