Roll up your sleeves and enjoy a medium that is full of surprises. Create a one-of-a-kind silk eyeglass case. Artist Dawn Gerardot Putman will demonstrate painting techniques. Please wear a smock and arrive 10 minutes prior for a prompt start.

From an early age, the passion to create has always been present in all that Putman sees and does. She feels a creative energy that tugs at the artist in her, and that is when "happy accidents" happen:  an exciting unpredictable result, an unexpected color mingling or a combination of mediums that causes a turn in direction.

Island Gallery is in its 35th year. Located in downtown Bradenton, it is a short walk to other stores and restaurants. The gallery has one-of-a-kind art work, photography, silk paintings, and other unique gifts by local artists. 

Parking is available in the municipal parking garage on 3rd Avenue between 10th and 12th streets, near the Bishop Museum.
